Social Economy
Social economy activities belong to the economic sector. Therefore, social economy activities relate to the way in which business is done.
The difference with the ‘regular’ economy is that the objective of social economy is not to make a profit – by maximizing the turnover and keeping the production cost to a minimum – but rather to create social added value.
So social economy puts man at the centre, for example by paying particular attention to the production process, the sustainability of the products and/or of the services provided, the employment of disadvantaged groups, … .
